In an interview printed in The New York Times and Texas Tribune, Soteria Solutions Principal Michelle Joseph says emergency responders faced high levels of stress during the shale boom.
However, now the boom has temporarily slowed, she’s helping La Salle County complete initiatives planned during peak oil prices so citizens still benefit from cross-trained Fire and EMS responders.
She hopes La Salle’s transition from small town fire department plagued with issues into a world-class rescue agency will serve as a model for small counties throughout Texas.
